Hate Mail and Despair

Abnormal University of the Queen City of the South
College of Curses
Dead President's Boulevard Queen City of the South 6000
Third World Country

Dear Sir and Madam:

Greetings of loathsomeness!
It has come to my attention that for so many years now, your abysmal institution has been treating your student body akin to an evil war lord treating his lowly minions. Perhaps it may have escaped your notice that we are human beings, just because we have persevered in finishing our studies at your pigsty of an institution does not make us your cattle. We still have some semblance of individualism remaining in us, we are not yet so brain washed that we succumb to your demands so easily. This letter is not only about my repugnance to your insipid teaching and administrative skills but also to bring to light what you have been trying to do to us to prepare us to enter society: treat us like scum.
We are but a few days away from ending 4 years of trauma but it has proven to be the most horrible hurdle of all, and trust me, this is no mean feat to topple all previous dreadfulness we have encountered. We are like battle weary soldiers and we have the scars to prove it. You may wonder why we find the path to graduation so difficult to journey through when you have paved a path so easy? Well, to explain it in terms you find easy to understand, the path you paved is like the proverbial "easy path"...to hell. We worked so hard to get to where we are and you know we are desperate to graduate, so why are you making it so difficult to do so?! We only need the instructors' presence and attention to complete the requirements yet they are seldom paying attention to us. They even complain that we are "too demanding". We may have demanded because we are pressed for time and threats of not graduating are scaring us but we do it politely and with all the respect they may not have earned. Perhaps they have forgotten that we want to graduate, and to do so we need their help since they are the obstacles in achieving complete requirements. We frequently go to your repulsive institution only to find that our efforts are in vain because your instructors are acting like Prima Donna's. They also inform us, not too politely, that they are busy and do not have the time. Why thank you, your highnesses but in case you have not noticed, we too are very busy. Maybe now is the perfect time to apply your lessons in Time Management since you seem to be doing things abysmally. Another solution to your gruesome problem is planning. You know that thing, where you schedule activities and inform us when you're available so our efforts will not be futile. There are so many ways to solve these issues where a win-win situation can be made possible without resorting to grumpy reactions or even physical violence. In times of desperation, we can always set aside our previous issues and work hard to achieve our goals. We have similar goals. You want to get rid of us and bleed us out of whatever money we have left while doing so. We want to escape from this prison and finally face the rest of the world. So with all due respect, let us act civilized. It is high time you treat us like adult human beings and we too are due your full respect. After all, we, the battle weary students are the ones paying for the remodeling you have been doing to bring about the facade of looking like a "normal" institution. A word of advice from a person who has stayed for four years, maybe you can start with the inside (rest rooms, classrooms etc.) instead of useless gates and such.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this letter. I hope we won't be seeing each other or your institution after graduation, a mere 8 days away!

Your humble minion,
Sunny Kind Of Wonderful

Panicking

Why oh why does graduating from college this difficult?! And this is all because of the freaking signatures I need! Crap. Crap. Crap.

Of tsunami's: small and large

Well there I was, going off to school to wait fruitlessly for my turn in the validation of my cases and oral revalida's; whining endlessly about them while the rest of the world struggled to find composure amidst threats of a tsunami and the earthquake in Japan. I am on my way to graduation and yet I still feel that I am not prepared to face the rest of the world. I am cocooned here in the safe corners of my room and the only problem I have is the revalida and the validation. These things seem like a huge deal for me right now because my world revolves around the four walls of the school. Outside those walls, the world seems like such a far away place; this is my reality, what I see on the news is the far-far away place. Days like these feels like the worst days ever but looking at the rest of the world, some scared and anxious people who fear for their safety against the forces of nature, my life's problems are insignificant. They may cause a lot of grumbling but my troubles have simple solutions. For someone so self absorbed and neurotic as I am, it takes a problem as huge as an imminent tsunami threat to view things as they should be. I must not make mountains out of molehills, there is still time for me to take control of those issues and I can solve them at my own pace. I only need to take deep calming breaths and be patient. The rest of the world's troubles are far greater and lives are at stake. I hope for the world's safety.

There is neither happiness nor unhappiness in this world; there is only the comparison of one state with another. Only a man who has felt ultimate despair is capable of feeling ultimate bliss. It is necessary to have wished for death in order to know how good it is to live…..the sum of all human wisdom will be contained in these two words: Wait and Hope.

TV stars and late night dreams.

The secret in their eyes

  • "A man can change anything: his face, his family, his girlfriend, his religion, his God. But there's something a man can change. A man can't change his passion" Sandoval
  • Ricardo Morales: If you keep going over the past, you're going to end up with a thousand pasts and no future.
  • I promise to write about this movie someday but now I have to watch Community!!!

Turning prudish

The media has apparently placed Cesc in such a high pedestal that he isn't even allowed to curse/swear. Every "bad" move he makes gets into the newspaper. Fact is, swearing/cursing is not unusual in football, its a pretty common occurrence.  Here's what I think: If I was watching that game along with the 60,000++ fans, I'd probably be cursing the referees. Things just come out in the heat of the moment and if I am not mistaken, it was not only Cesc swearing but the rest of the team too. IT was clearly offside, that was indisputable. The reporters just put the spotlight on him, and so did that freaking manager from that other team which I now officially hate. I obsessively read about the issue in a lot of newspapers and most of them had no qualms in lambasting his character. It must have been a slow news day. Didn't those guys notice our dear little Russian rise from the ashes with a splendid goal?! Didn't they notice how well we've fought back during the second half?! The way they've been putting too much focus on that issue angers me. Cesc is a human being, a human being=someone with emotions, someone with emotions+heat of the moment(esp. in a very obvious offside goal)=angry diatribe. Have some sense. Here's a great piece from arseblog: Putting some sense into it

can i just whine?!

Taking time off from my deliriously uber lengthy writing requirements to whine about it is very relaxing, as I've just realized. Stuff like these makes me hate my duty week. Why does this instructor insist on making us write these terribly boring stuff which will then be useless in the future?! My fingers are numb from writing, not to mention it's trembling. Its like I have Huntington's chorea. wtf.
Oe thing I realized about myself is that I can be pretty OC when it comes to these stuff, which makes me hate it more since I can't rest until I've finished them all...to my standards(which are pretty fucking high). There's that niggling thought that keeps disturbing me and doesn't go away until I've done them all. Grrreeeattt. So I end up finishing everything and then it doesn't get checked.FML.
So I now decide to be lazy...maybe.

Gastronomy: the art and science of good eating

My stomach was never the same again after that excursion to an eat-all-you-can-with-bottomless-drinks-buffet. I thought it had gotten used to the large quantities of food I've been gobbling since last year. Apparently not. It's now so large it almost looks as if I have a beer belly. And I don't drink beer (or alcohol of any kind). These shady dealings with gastronomy had dubious beginnings. I can't recall when the first temptation happened. Or maybe it was just my friend who got tempted and I got it by association. There are four of us whom I shall refer to as the Food porn Quartet. I distinctly remember that we usually start out without plans of any kind. Plans get foiled. Impulse, on the other hand, doesn't. Impulse drives us. We tend to imagine the sight, smell and taste of food, the first bite of mouth watery goodness that feeds on our imagination until we are feverish to take on the challenge of emptying our purses and filling our bellies. There was only one goal in mind and that is to conquer all Asian cuisines in various restaurants in our city. Of course, we had to consider the budget. It must be affordable. We're only students, after all, and we still rely on our parents to give us our food allowance. But as true foodporners, we are like the knights of gastronomy, vowing to partake in food of any edible kind.
The knights:
Neerodix the Anti-Chicken
Maven the Tempted
Sunny the Say-Yes!
Rubs the Maybe

Okay so it doesn't really say much about who we are but we are who we are or whatever. We just love food. Period.
